Still Driving with a LEARNER'S PERMIT !!!! Imagine Card # 2

Still trying to learn how to use the IMAGINE....hence still driving with a learners permit....lol  I will say that I am finding it easier to move around on the machine...and hope when the updates come out next month it will be even easier.

So this morning I made this card with the help of Tammy Skinner (thank you thank you).. I learned so much by watching her video and had to try it out to see if I could do it to.  You can watch the video here.

So here's the card using Nursery Tails:
It is a A2 size card
I think it turned out pretty cute.....Best thing about it is 1SHEET OF PAPER !!!!
It took me about 10 minutes to make the whole card....How fantastic is that?

Off to play some more ...Will be back later with another imagine project

New Series - Thinking Outside the Box

Hey Crafty Friends

I have had such a positive response to my Mini Monsters "Baby Cards", and I thank each and everyone of you for your very nice comments and questions about the cards.  Most of you have commented on the fact that Mini Monsters is not typically what you think about when you think of "Babies", and this is probably very true, but in my "quirky" head it fits perfectly.

So it got me to thinking what if I started a series dedicated to "Thinking Outside the Box", taking a cartridge that you usually wouldn't typically use and using it to make something creative.  I think the possibilities are endless.

Would love to know what you think.  Leave me a comment as to what you would like to see and what cartridges you would like me to use. Also considering making it a video series....So if videos are what you would like to see...let me know that too.

I'VE BEEN CROWNED A PAPER QUEEN !!!

I am so excited to tell you that I have been asked to join the design team over at Paper Playtime. I will be a contributing designer (PAPER QUEEN) for them and can't wait to join in with the fun.   They have weekly challenges every Monday.  The project can be anything you want from a card, layout, 3D object, mini album, tag, gift bag... you choose, just make it with my very favorite ingredient PAPER...lol.  Sounds like fun huh?  The ladies that are on the design team are so very talented and I am just so happy to be included in the same design team with these extrodinary and gifted women.

I was asked to create a project for this weeks challenge, and was so excited to do so here is what I came up with....The challenge theme this week was "Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain".  Use any type of water in your project.  Rain, dew, ocean, waves, ice cubes, frost, snow, bubbles, puddles, bath time, etc.

I made everything for this card with my IMAGINE.... (except the base) I am still trying to figure out the imagine but my first impression is this machine will be AWESOME when I figure out how to "drive it".  lol....

All the background mats were made from the Imagine(using the Best Friends Cartridge)  and I also used the Paisley cartridge and figured how to "flood fill" the images to match my background mats.  Pretty cool huh?

I pop dotted the umbrella and added a brown ribbon and flower w/ pearl  to tie all the elements together.

The best part about this card is it only used 1 1/2 sheets of 12x12 card stock to make it . (YEAH !!).  I didn't have to figure out if this patterned paper matched that patterned paper, BECAUSE EVERYTHING COORDINATES so well together.  It was "EASY PEASY JAPANESEY" as my daughter likes to say.

The card also has little dots of Diamond Glaze on it to represent rain but my camera just didn't get them.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look

3D Cozy Coupe to be Honored !!!

First let me say " I would like to thank the academy"... lol, No seriously Matthew's teacher sent home a letter telling me how wonderful Matthew's car was, and asked if it would be alright if they kept it for a while because the principal wants to place it in the display cabinet at the front of the school.  I feel so honored.  Who would have thought anything I created was worth going on display for everyone to see. I think creativity come from deep inside the soul and when you open your mind up the possibilities are endless.

Cricut Cardz Challenge # 43 Baby Boy Monster

This week at CCC we had to come up with a Baby Boy card using the colors orange, green, blue, and white.  I have been working with the  Mini Monsters cartridge pretty much all week and have been trying to "think outside the box" when it comes to using my cartridges.   It has been my own personal challenge to figure out other ways to utilize them and get the most out of them.  If you haven't bought the Mini Monsters Cartridge it is one of those "must have" cartridge.  The cuts are just adorable and the layering is really great too.

The card is a standard A2 card (Portrait Style)
and all layers are cut 1/4 inch smaller

Monster Cut from the fabulous Mini Monsters
Crib cut at 4 1/2 inches from Everyday Paperdolls

Sentiment is computer generated
I pop dotted the crib and added a small strip to the bottom of the crib for a blanket

All cardstock is from DCWV Animal Crackers

Please take the time and join us at CCC  and play along with us.  It is always fun.

Remember "Think Outside The Box" when it comes to your cartridges you never know what you might come up with

MINI MONSTERS BABY GIRL CARD

For those of you who know me, I really have a "quirky" sense of humor. I think this card sums it all up for how my "brain" works when making cards.  I am the mother to 3 girls (21,17,11) I know I live in the "Estrogen Ocean", but its ok I have learned to deal with it over the years.  Well my oldest daughter is pregnant with my first granddaughter, so I was inspired to make this card for her.
I hope you like it, I think it turned out just PERFECT...

I used pink and chocolate brown cardstock

The haunted house from Mini Monsters (using the card feature)
Stroller is from Everyday Paper Dolls
Look at the "little girl monster in her stroller" (makes me smile just looking at her) ;0)

Porch flap opened to reveal "Baby Girl Monster"
The inside sentiment - Pretty funny huh?

CUTE HALLOWEEN WITCH CARD

I just love the MINI MONSTERS cartridge, the images are absolutely adorable and the layers are so easy to put together.  I made this cute witch card the other day, using the new K & Company paper stack "Spooktacular".  I love this paper stack, (well I love most scrapbooking paper)..lol but seriously this is one of those stacks that every single page is awesome.  I loved it so much that I bought 2 of them one for card making and one for those Halloween pic that are collecting dust waiting to be scrapped.

Well here's the card (simple but the paper and the witch) make the card.

3D COZY COUPE !!!!

My grandson Matthew is in Pre-K this year, and as we all know with back to school come PROJECTS...
I don't understand why schools assign project to 4 year olds.. Knowing that an adult really is the one that has to do it.

The theme for the project is "TRANSPORTATION", the project stated to make a form of transportation using items you have at home. So a first I was going to make a truck out of a shoe box...but then the "wheels started turning in my head" and I SAID "use the CRICUT". They said use things you have at home and I have paper, glue and a CRICUT.(lol)

I have always loved the cozy coupe on the B is for Boy cartridge and is primarly why I bought the cartridge in the first place. So I had to figure out how to make it 3-D. I cut 2 cozy coupe and flipped one. I then had to figure out a way to make it stand up... so I used the Bags Tags Boxes and More cartridge to make a small box to glue the sides of the car too. I cut two strips for the front and the rear of the car to cover up the box in the middle of the car.
Here is a pic of my cozy coupe showing the box insert in the middle
Passengers Side
Drivers Side

I sure hope I make an "A" on my transportation project...lol

HSN ENABLED ME !!!

Say HELLO to my NEW LITTLE FRIEND !!!!

I am so HAPPY right now.. It will take a "JACK HAMMER" to wipe the smile off my face...   I just ordered my Cricut IMAGINE from HSN.  I was really on the fence about it, but after watching the presentation this morning I had to have it.  I think the Imagine is going to take our scrapbooking and cardmaking to a completely new level.

*** Remember if you order it today through HSN you will get 3 CARTRIDGES ( Normally it only comes with ONE cartridge "Cricut Imagine").  Also if ordered today you get the option for 5 flexpays of $99.99 and free shipping).  I figure I spend $100.00 a month on McDonald's in a month...so I will ban "Eating Out" to pay for my IMAGINE.  (sorry "GIRLS" Momma has a "NEW SCRAPBOOKING TOY". ;0)

Cartridges that come in the bundle from HSN

It will not be here until next Friday (9/24)... I will be waiting patiently (well at least I will try to be patient)

Off to work on a project while I wait...lol

Would love to know what you think about the IMAGINE (Please leave me a comment)

Halloween Flower Card (WHAT?) Creativity Challenge # 3

Well this morning I am working on Halloween card, as I was picking papers for the card mats I came across this really cute candy corn paper that I probably have had in my stash for several years. ( I literally had to wipe the dust off of it)...lol.

I do love Halloween, it has always been one of those time when you can let your imagination run wild, and no one thinks your a "WEIRDO"...  Being the mother to all girls, I always hated when people would try to scare them at Halloween and have spent many Halloween nights standing in someone's yard consoling them, after being scared to death by some "chain-saw carrying masked man"....

So for this card I kept it simple but added something I have never seen on any Halloween card thus far....A FLOWER....  The inspiration came for the colors in the candy corns and I FINALLY broke out the I-Top and used it to make a candy corn brad for the center of my flower.  I can see the I-Top and I are going to become really close friends ...lol (this tool is awesome). I also used Heidi Swap stamps for the flourish behind the flower and used black UTEE for the trick or treat and edges around the mat.  It  gives it a raised "spooky " feeling. The flower came from Forever Young cut at various sizes to give it a graduated look, and I inked the edges with distress ink to tie the colors together.

Creativity Challenge Project # 2

Needed a driving cup....I know I am not the only one that has to have a drinking cup while driving.I love all of those fancy driving cups that you can get at the retail stores with monograms or vinyl or I have even seen ribbon initials.  Well they can be pretty expensive (Like $10 or $12 for just ONE).  I don't know about you but I could buy a whole lot of plastic cups at Wal-Mart for that price...

But I did really want my own special driving cup, so "What's a girl to do"?.....Make her OWN.

I have had this cup in my craft room for several months now I bought it a Hobby Lobby when they were 50% off.  (so 5 bucks for the cup) a piece of paper and a little creativity and now I have my OWN personalized driving cup.

I hope you will give it a try, Super Easy and really Inexpensive.

Remember do something CREATIVE EVERDAY

Hey everybody I hope you are doing well.  This weeks challenge over at CCC is to design a card for fall easy enough right? That Mary she always seems to put a little "Mary Twist " on the challenge, you can use any cart but NO BROWN,YELLOW or ORANGE. What was she thinking...good grief Charlie Brown...So as I pondered over this and lurked at my paper wall for just the right colors...I drew a blank...Complete no holds bar BLANK...And then I started thinking of all the things that fall brings, cooler weather, deer hunting, Halloween, falling leaves, HARVESTING...well that what it the Harvest ... Creativity Challenge Day # 1 A "NEW" technique !!

I consider myself pretty crafty and like all different types of media when I am crafting, so for today's challenge I decided to go beyond my normal A2 card and challenge myself to a new folding technique.
I chose the WINDOW FOLD technique, all I can say is I am so impressed with how simple it was to do.  I have to say that this card has a "WOW" factor about it.  My husband even said "WOW" and he is usually not very easily impressed....lol

I think my card making has reached a new height from this simple little fold, and now after months of trying to look like I knew how to make a card.  I can honestly say OMG thats a great card.  And you know the best part about it all is I can say " I DID THAT".

True Love Card - CCC Challenge # 40

Here's the card I did for the challenge over at cricutcardzchallenge.blogspot.com (challenge # 40). The challenge was to make a card using a scalloped circle, square, oval or a rectangle.  any cartridge and any color or theme.  Well you think the ideas would have been pouring out of my "little creative head" right?   well wrong...I think I am suffering from "card making amnesia".  Nothing has worked out when it comes to this challenge, maybe I am "thinking to hard about it'  I don't know.....  Well I did come up with something  last night while cooking, and here it is....I wouldn't say it's one of those cards that makes you go "OMG  what a great card" but  I did have a brief moment of "creative mojo return".  Thank goodness I have to much to get done in my "Scrap Cave " (yes I said "Scrap Cave").  My husband has a racecar in our shop (which I have lovely named the "Race Cave", so when no one can find me they all know to go look in the "Scrap Cave". I probably have glue stuck to my figure and mounds of cardstock surrounding my work table, but it makes me happy and that's what matters.  Well here it is,
